So, I’ve decided to install an instance of bbPress. I’ve been hacking around in it for a little bit now, trying to port the theme I use here for bbpress. It’s looking mostly half-decent now, but there are a handful of things here and there that aren’t quite showing up exactly the way I want them. But they’ll have to wait until I have time to sit down again and mess around with the stylesheet.
I must say, though, that bbPress is looking fine compared to the last time I used it. The new default template looks very slick. Of course, I’ve gotten more comfortable with the tagging system, as well, and that was one of the things I disliked most about it initially. But it installs every bit as easily as WordPress does (and I’m assuming it upgrades as painlessly, as well).
Anyway, feel free to go register and mess around with it and let me know what you see in the template that doesn’t look or work quite right. I still don’t know what I’d do with a discussion forum to generate interest, but for now I’m satisfying my inner geek and playing with a new toy and figuring out how it works in the event that I actually do want to integrate it into WordPress.
