I'm looking into RoughDraft right now, but I don't see anything about it being portable. Does it run from a USB stick naturally, or is there a portable version I'm not finding?

FWIW, I'm an avid user of portable apps myself, and have several on a portable hard drive. I just don't see this software at any of my usual portable hangouts. :-)

First of all, the only commenting rule I have in place here is to comment with respect and be polite -- no matter how sharply your opinion differs.

Secondly, this is a fairly old post (four years old, to be precise). While I think my main premise -- that politicians as a whole tend to be in politics more for personal power than for the general well-being of their constituents -- still stands, I have long since realized that my conclusion in this post is erroneous; Christians are no better politicians than their secular counterparts. Personally, I think the whole political democratic system is somewhat broken, but unfortunately it's still one of the best systems out there right now. It'd just be nice, from an idealistic point of view, if all politicians would do the <em>right</em> thing, regardless of how it would affect their chances for re-election, instead of doing the things that would earn them votes in the next election cycle.

I dunno -- I'm just frustrated by the whole process and by the lack of solid ethics in politics. Power is a dangerous thing in the hands of people who don't know how to use it wisely.

Idiot moron. There is nothing postmodern about the idea that politicians seek nothing only personal gain. The distrust of politicians predates even the invention of politics.

And if you think that the honesty of a christian leader is the ideal solution to the corrupt and vile Sodom in which we live... perhaps you should consider reviewing the history of Christianity. Or even look at the personal life of any one of the very Pure Christian leaders that are at the head of the battle for America's chastity today.

I know it's been Shamus Writes for a while now. Just out of curiosity what made you pick that as a title? I've always been horrible at naming things from blogs to pets so I wasn't sure if the title was something meaningful that I missed or just a title you liked. It is a nice title though. :)

This post and discussion seem to be already a bit older. But never the less: I need such a plugin, too. After searching the web for a while I came to the conclusion that there still isn't such a plugin with all features I need.

Because I have some programming knowledge in PHP and written some other (smaller) plugins for Wordpress, I decided to code such a plugin myself ... and after some days of hard work I am done with it! :D

You will find the plugin at <a href="http://www.hyper-world.de/en/computer-2/xpost/" target="_blank">http://www.hyper-world.de/en/computer-2/xpost/</a> or in the Wordpress plugin directory.

Short summary which of your feature requests are implemented:
1. Preservation of all the post’s metadata – title, categories, permissions, date/timestamps, passwords, etc.
Everything out of this list except permissions will get copied. Passwords will also get copied (just in case someone thinks this would fall into permissions).

2. Ability to crosspost to as many instances of WordPress as desired.
You can add as many WordPress blogs as you want.

3. Ability to select only certain categories for crossposting.
The categories will be loaded from the blogs you are crossposting to and can be selected individually for each blog.

4. Ability to crosspost to a wordpress.com blog.
I did not test it. But I think it should work. Wordpress.com provides the XML-RPC interface and I see no reason why this should differ from the standard Wordpress XML-RPC interface.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, I haven't updated or supported Bluesands for bbPress in quite a long time. I would actually recommend that you do some hunting around for a different theme for use with your forum. There are several new features in the latest versions of bbPress that Bluesands simply doesn't support. Thank you for your interest, though!
